How can I enable notifications on iPhone?

If you have a recent iPhone, such as the iPhone 14 Pro Max, or an iPad running iOS version 16.4 or later, you can follow the steps below to enable push notifications for The Care Handbook.

By doing so, you will receive alerts (web push notifications) similar to those of native iOS apps, helping you know when we publish content such as Activity shout outs, Events and new training courses.

Step 1:Ā  Launch theĀ SettingsĀ app on your iPhone or iPad running iOS/iPadOS 16.4 or later.

Step 2:Ā  Scroll down and navigate toĀ Safari.

Step 3:Ā  Click AdvancedĀ and thenĀ Experimental Features.

Step 4:Ā  You will find aĀ Push API toggle (the list is in alphabetical order so you’ll find it past the halfway point) . Make sure it’s enabled.

Step 5:Ā  Now launch the Safari app and visit the website you’d like to receive push notifications from, in this case The Care Handbook.

Step 6:Ā  Tap on theĀ ShareĀ button in the middle of the bottom bar

Step 7:Ā  Optionally rename the web app, then tapĀ AddĀ in the top right corner.

Step 8:Ā  It will now appear on your Home Screen as a native app. Launch the newly-added web app.

Step 9:Ā  You will see a notification from the Handbook informing you that ‘We’d like to show you notifications…’. Click ‘Yes Please’.

Step 10:Ā  A final notification from Apple will appear making sure you’d like to allow notifications from us.Ā  Click ‘Allow’.

You will now see a notification from us at the top of your screen confirming that you are now subscribed to web push notifications šŸ””
